A proposed archive service

The third copy.
Your terms.

A considered place in your backup plan for the things you choose to keep. Customer-owned archive setup and support, with a deliberate path back.

Design exploration. Encryption, key custody, access and restore safeguards are not implemented here.

The working brief

01 / The third copy

Some things deserve
another place.

Your working files and routine backups already have a job. A tertiary archive is a proposed additional copy, with its own purpose in a plan you control.

INGRESS explores helping you define that purpose, prepare a customer-owned encrypted archive and document a careful recovery process. The architecture, storage, encryption and verification approach still need to be agreed and validated.

This preview does not create an archive, encrypt files, verify backups or connect to any storage.

02 / The approach

A plan before
a promise.

Useful support begins with decisions made in plain language. These are proposed planning stages, not a description of a live service.

A / SCOPE

Choose what matters.

Define the material, retention needs and limits of the archive. Decide what should stay out.

Archive scope · pending
B / CUSTODY

Set the responsibilities.

Agree ownership, storage, keys and who may request a restore. Document the boundaries.

Custody & authorization · pending
C / RECOVERY

Design the way back.

Define verification, release and recovery checks. Validate the process before relying on it.

Restore design & testing · pending

03 / The return

Make the moment
deliberate.

A ceremonial restore could create space to pause, review the intent and follow a documented release process. Explore the feeling of that moment with a synthetic example.

The actual release, authorization, key custody and security design remain pending. A ceremony alone is not a security control.

Demo — no archive is opened or released.

Before anything is stored

The questions
come first.

An archive plan should be understandable to the people who will rely on it.

  • What belongs in the reserve?

    Material, exclusions, retention and deletion.

  • Who holds the keys and authority?

    Ownership, recovery, custodians and succession.

  • How will a restore be proven?

Integrity checks, testing, release and responsibility.

  • What does support include?

Scope, availability, terms and pricing — all pending.

04 / Open questions

Clear boundaries.
From the start.

Is this an operational backup service?

No. This is a private local design preview. It stores no customer material and connects to no archive. Service capabilities, technical architecture and operating terms are pending validation.

What does “customer-owned encrypted archive” mean here?

It describes the proposed direction: an archive owned by the customer, with an encryption approach to be designed and agreed. This website does not implement encryption or key management, and makes no security guarantee.

What is a ceremonial restore?

A design idea for a deliberate, clearly documented release moment. Its authorization, key custody, verification and release mechanisms have not been determined. The interactive example above is visual demonstration only.

What will it cost, and when will it be available?

Pricing, availability, support commitments, storage limits, retention terms and all unverified capabilities are pending. There is no checkout, signup or submission in this preview.
